Opened in 2016, 100+ tasting room and patio offers rotating house beers and daily food options. 3.5BBL brewhouse was the original platform system now churning out experimental and barrel aged beers by head brewer Will Kmetz.
Platform Beer Co. was founded in 2014 with a two-pronged mission:
1. Brew tasty beers for sale in our tasting room and at your favorite bar and/or restaurant.
Our brewer, Reed Jaskula, believes in brewing diverse, seasonal options at our tasting room in Ohio City, the unofficial Brewery District of Cleveland. Styles range from new American styles to experimental sours and Barrel Aged beers.
Technical perfection is the goal in every batch we produce and every style we create; nothing else is acceptable.
2. Create opportunity for those who wish to begin a career in the brewing industry.
Owner, Paul Benner, opened Cleveland’s largest Homebrew Supply Shop in 2012 after falling in love with the home-based hobbies of making beer and wine. Shortly after brewing his first beer, the inspiration to open a full-service, educationally slanted shop was born. Inspired by the many loyal customers of The Cleveland Brew Shop who would state on a daily basis that they would, “quit their job if the could find a way to make beer for the rest of my life” Platform Beer Co. came into existence.
Thus Platform’s Brewery Incubator was born. We give brewers the opportunity to have their homebrewed recipes enjoyed by the general public; a dream come true for an accomplished brewer. We also have them train hands-on with our brewmaster, bump up their home recipe to a 3 bbl pilot batch and shadow our staff during all facets of the brewing process. We also help them create a business plan, develop financial projections, work with logo/design team and guide them through the regulatory hurdles associated with the beer industry.
Our goal is to help them open a brewery in the future; our way of paying it forward.
